Backstory
Jimmy Mak grew up in Steubenville, Ohio where (since he wasn’t very good at football) he fell in love with comedy and was widely known as the class clown. He attended the Ohio State University and graduated with a BA degree in English, with a focus on creative writing.
Theatrical Expertise
Mak joined the Shadowbox Live ensemble in 1996, and soon after took over the writing team. To date, Mak has written over hundreds of comedy sketches seen by hundreds of thousands of patrons. He has also written one-act plays and shorts that have been produced in New York, Los Angeles, and Hong Kong.

Organizational Expertise
As Head Writer, Mak scripts Shadowbox Live’s artistic mission. He is the creative director and visionary for the company’s writing team, a collective of resident artists that produce material for nearly two dozen original productions each year. He also advises the Producing Director on casting decisions and production design.
Mak is a member of Shadowbox Live’s Leadership Team.
