The Metaperformer: A visceral, vulnerable performing artist.

Metaperformers are the theatrical professionals of Shadowbox Live’s resident ensemble. Their expertise encompasses, and talents include, numerous artistic forms and organizational roles.

Metaperformers master the disciplines of many.

It’s not enough to just write, to only produce, or to simply perform. Metaperformers take a multidisciplinary approach to compose intimate theater experiences – a method that casts each one in the Shadowbox Live Role of 3:

The passionate artist

A rigorously trained performer that constantly crafts multiple theatrical capabilities through visceral art production.

A humble server that breaks down the traditional barriers between artist and audience, from tableside to stageside.

An organizational employee that supports any and all of the elements of our experiential artform. Metaperformers are servers and ticket managers, kitchen hands and stagehands, custodians and costume designers.
